Welcome back to Term 4

Hi all and welcome back to Term 4.  I hope you have had an enjoyable holiday break with your child and I look forward to spending the next 9 weeks with them again.

Swimming - our class swimming week is every odd week so beginning tomorrow we have swimming at 2.30 - 3 pm.  Then week 3, 5, 7 and 9.  If your child catches a bus home they will only have about 15 minutes in the pool each day as they need time to get out and dress prior to the 2.50 pm bus bell.  Every child is expected to swim each day unless you provide a note to say that they are unwell.  Children who are not confident in the water will be closely watched by myself so they are safe.  Our school's swimming pool is kept at 30 degrees so it is nice and warm.

Working bee - Saturday, 28th October we are having a Working Bee at school. The day starts at 8.00 am and children are invited to come too. Morning tea and a BBQ lunch will be provided. Please come along and help if you are able to.

Summer Uniforms - as it is now term 4, school hats are expected to be worn for this term and term 1 of next year. Please ensure that you name your child's hat as it is a consistent problem trying to sort hats out. No hat no play is the school's safety policy so if your child does not have a hat on they must stay under the cover to play.

Reminders - school starts at 8.45 am everyday. Please have your child at school by 8.30 am so they have time to prepare, say hello to their friends etc and be ready for a 8.45 start.

Portfolios/RE books - please return these this week so more work can be added to them. I hope you have enjoyed reading about your child's learning, remember to complete the 2 stars and a wish form which is the last page in their portfolios.

Looking forward to a productive term 4, remember you are welcome to come and speak with me anytime, or contact me via email: nicolar@stmarysrotorua.school.nz
