This Tuesday is Shrove Tuesday (pancake Tuesday) it's the day before Ash Wednesday which is the first day of Lent. It's a day of penitence, to clean the soul, and a day of celebration as the last chance to feast before Lent begins.
To help celebrate this special day in the Catholic Church's calendar we will be making our own pancakes in Room 7. Could I please ask that everybody brings a gold coin donation to help purchase maple syrup, flour, toppings for pancakes etc.
Thanks to Lorraine who has offered to come in with her crepe maker to help me for the afternoon.
Special thanks to Nicola Riley-Groves and Naomi Lomas for your help in creating our "Ko Te whanau nga Kakano" wall display in the foyer. This symbolises the children in our class "from small seeds we grow into mighty learners". As a class we discussed what it meant to be a mighty learner and your child's response is written on their pot plant. If anybody has any sun flower seeds or bean seeds that we could add to the display could you please bring in.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
